What is CIMA® ?

 

CIMA, (or the Certified Investment Management Analyst®) is a certification offered by the Investments and Wealth Institute® (Institute). According to the Institute, CIMA professionals integrate a complex body of investment knowledge, ethically contributing to prudent investment decisions by providing objective advice and guidance to individual investors and institutional investors. The CIMA certification program is the only credential designed specifically for financial professionals who want to attain a level of competency as an advanced investment consultant. When Can I take the Exams?

Executive Education Program

Once your application has been accepted, you will complete an executive education program from one of the Institute's registered providers:

  • The University of Chicago Booth School of Business
  • The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania 
  • Yale School of Management
  • Investment Management Research Program – Australia

Please visit each provider's website for testing dates, registration, fees, schedules, policies and information.

CIMA Certification Exam

Once you have made it through the executive education program, you have one more exam: the Certification Exam. This comprehensive, five-hour exam takes place at a registered Pearson-Vue testing facility.
